Jazz at the Center concert series returns to Indianapolis Art Center starting June 19

The Indianapolis Jazz Foundation and Indy Jazz Fest are thrilled to announce our fifth season of Jazz at the Center, an annual outdoor summer concert series at the Indianapolis Art Center (820 E. 67th Street). This year’s lineup features three dynamic performances that celebrate the rich tapestry of jazz, culture, and community.

2025 Concert Lineup:

SleepyNap presents: Blue Bergamot – A Juneteenth Celebration

Thursday, June 19 - 7PM

Led by drummer Richard “Sleepy” Floyd, this 10-piece Afrobeat ensemble pays homage to West African legends like Fela Kuti and Manu Dibango. Experience a rhythmic journey that honors the spirit of Juneteenth through powerful music and storytelling.

Indianapolis Jazz Collective presents: Christmas in July

Thursday, July 17 - 7PM

Celebrate the holiday spirit in the summer heat with an exclusive pre-release concert. The Indianapolis Jazz Collective, featuring vocalist Rebecca Rafla, saxophonist Rob Dixon, pianist Steve Allee, drummer Kenny Phelps, and bassist Nick Tucker, brings festive cheer with a jazz twist.

Pavel & Direct Contact Present: The Latin Tinge

Thursday, August 21 - 7PM

Embark on a vibrant musical voyage through the Caribbean with Dominican pianist Pavel Polanco-Safadit and his ensemble. Joined by Indy Latin All-Stars, including members from Bembé, 317 Proyecto, Direct Contact, and more, this performance promises an unforgettable night of Afro-Caribbean rhythms and dance.
