The Alley at The Cabaret, presented by Glick Art, is back this summer for its fifth anniversary season, and it’s shaping up to be the most dynamic yet. What began as a grassroots effort to make the arts more accessible has blossomed into a beloved cultural tradition—and this year, it's bigger, bolder, and more vibrant than ever.
Beginning July 25 and running through August 15, The Alley will once again transform the space next to The Cabaret into a buzzing open-air festival. Over four Friday evenings, audiences can expect an eclectic mix of live music, interactive visual art, and a community-focused atmosphere that continues to define this free summer series.
“The Alley was born out of a desire to make high-quality music and art experiences more accessible to all, and five years later, we’re still growing,” said Valerie Phelps, Artistic Associate at The Cabaret and curator of The Alley Sessions. “We’re thrilled to mark this anniversary with a phenomenal lineup that highlights Indy’s top talent and celebrates the city’s cultural richness.”
This year’s sessions will offer an immersive experience beyond the stage. The open-air venue will feature café-style seating, shade umbrellas, and striking public art installations. Guests can enjoy food and cocktails from The Jazz Kitchen, shop local artisan goods, and explore contemporary exhibits at the nearby Gallery 924, which will remain open during the August events.
In partnership with WICR 88.7 FM, each performance will also be broadcast live, bringing The Alley’s unique energy to listeners across Central Indiana.
The Alley remains a free, family-friendly event open to all. Leashed dogs are welcome, with water stations provided to keep them cool.
Table reservations open Friday, May 30 at 10 AM at THECABARET.ORG/THEALLEY or by phone at 317-275-1169. Reserved seating is limited and includes shade umbrellas, though guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for general seating—no reservation required.
Whether you're a longtime attendee or a first-time visitor, this milestone season is the perfect opportunity to discover the power of art, music, and community in the heart of Indianapolis.
