In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, the Indiana Historical Society and Magic Thread Cabaret are teaming up to present Cabaret Latino: Songs of the Americas—a vibrant, bilingual musical revue honoring the influence of Latino music on American popular culture.

Presented by Ammeen & Associates LLC, the show will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 10, and Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Basile Theatre inside the Eugene & Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center, located at 450 W. Ohio Street in Indianapolis. Tickets are $30 for general admission and $25 for seniors, students, and IHS members, available online at KleinandAlvarez.com or at the door.

Cabaret Latino: Songs of the Americas features a rich 90-minute program that celebrates the rhythms, stories, and passion of Latin America through music and dance. Audiences can expect timeless classics such as “Cielito Lindo,” “De Colores,” “Quizás, Quizás,” and “La Bamba,” alongside contemporary hits made famous by Shakira, Selena, Gloria Estefan, and Bad Bunny. A dynamic ten-piece band and dazzling dance numbers representing Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil will bring the experience to life.

“As an American of Mexican heritage, Cabaret Latino is very personal to me as an expression of someone who grew up in the middle of two cultures and loves them both,” said show creator Tom Alvarez. “As an artist, it is with great pride that I pay tribute to Latino music, which has helped shape my dual identity through the songs I have lovingly curated for the program.”

Through this joyful celebration, Magic Thread Cabaret and the Indiana Historical Society hope to foster cultural understanding and unity, showcasing how Latino music has influenced generations and continues to shape our shared American experience.
