The town of Zionsville is gearing up to host its first-ever Pride Festival, a vibrant celebration of love, diversity, and community. Set for Saturday, August 16, from 1 to 7 p.m. at Mulberry Fields, the inaugural Zionsville Pride Festival promises an afternoon of music, entertainment, family activities, and connection — all with the goal of fostering a more inclusive and welcoming community.

Presented by local business The Lovely Dev, the festival is organized by Zionsville Pride, a grassroots nonprofit committed to creating year-round opportunities for LGBTQIA+ visibility and support beyond the traditional June Pride Month.

“Zionsville Pride is all about ensuring that Zionsville is an inclusive place for everyone,” said Bob Goodman, co-owner of Robert Goodman Jewelers. “Hosting this festival at Mulberry Fields helps to provide Zionsville with a local identity — a literal source of pride for our entire community.”

A Day of Celebration and Connection

The festival kicks off at 1 p.m. with a welcome from Indiana State Senator JD Ford — the state’s first openly gay legislator — and renowned local author and photographer Tom Casalini. A lively entertainment lineup will follow, with performances from local musicians Anneliese & Ali, Moxie, and Boost, plus a Dance Fit interactive performance and a grand finale featuring fabulous drag performances beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Festivalgoers will also find three interactive zones designed for all ages and comfort levels:

  • Kids’ Zone – Complete with crafts, face painting, Drag Story Time, and story time with staff from Zionsville Library.

  • Quiet & Wellness Zone – Offering gentle yoga and meditation sessions, coloring pages, journaling activities, and a calm space to relax and recharge.

  • Outdoor Games Zone – Featuring fun activities like hula hoops, cornhole, and giant Connect 4.

Community Involvement and Local Support

In addition to live entertainment and activity zones, the festival will showcase local businesses, artists, and nonprofits at vendor booths. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about community resources, support LGBTQIA+ affirming organizations, and purchase Pride-themed merchandise. Food and beverages will be available on-site, though the event remains alcohol-free to ensure a safe and family-friendly environment.

Admission and parking are free. On-site parking will be available at Mulberry Fields (9645 Whitestown Road), with overflow parking offered at Zionsville United Methodist Church across the street. Leashed pets are welcome.

To get involved as a volunteer, vendor, sponsor, or donor, visit zionsvillepride.org and follow Zionsville Pride on Facebook and Instagram for updates.

With community at its heart and inclusion as its mission, Zionsville Pride aims to set the stage for a new local tradition — one filled with joy, expression, and togetherness.
