This fall and winter, The Cabaret in Indianapolis is set to dazzle audiences with a season steeped in joy, laughter, and love. The 2025 Fall-Winter lineup, announced by Artistic Director and CEO Shannon Forsell, promises an inspired mix of Broadway brilliance, vintage jazz, and international flair—all staged in one of the country’s most unique and intimate performance venues.
Leading the charge is the Glick Philanthropies Broadway at The Cabaret Series, opening September 12 with Christian Borle, the two-time Tony Award winner best known for his showstopping roles in Something Rotten, Peter and the Starcatcher, Some Like It Hot, and NBC’s SMASH. Borle’s signature wit and theatrical charm will set the tone for a season of iconic performances.
The Broadway series continues with a rare and romantic pairing: Eva Noblezada and Reeve Carney, a newly engaged couple whose chemistry has captivated audiences in shows like Hadestown, Cabaret, and Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Beyond their mainstage performance, the duo will also offer a free masterclass to 200 local students and artists on September 25—nurturing the next generation of talent in Indiana.
Emmy-nominated actress and Rent original cast member Tracie Thoms brings her dynamic presence to the stage, blending her musical theatre roots with TV and film success from The Devil Wears Prada, Looper, and 9-1-1. The inimitable Isaac Mizrahi—fashion icon, storyteller, and star of Project Runway All Stars—returns to cabaret with his signature style and humor. Closing out the Broadway series is vocal powerhouse Jessica Vosk, fresh from her role in Alicia Keys’ Hell’s Kitchen, ready to lead a soulful and festive holiday celebration.
The Jazz at The Cabaret Series showcases a modern twist on classic sounds, opening with Stella Cole, a viral vocal sensation and star of Postmodern Jukebox, whose vintage flair revives the Great American Songbook for today’s audience. Jazz piano virtuoso Emmet Cohen, winner of the 2019 American Pianists Awards, joins forces with the luminous Georgia Heers, a Juilliard-trained vocalist who recently appeared on Broadway in Good Night, and Good Luck.
The Christel DeHaan International Series, presented in partnership with Indy Jazz Fest, features Gunhild Carling, the Swedish jazz sensation whose high-energy, multi-instrumental performances have wowed fans on America’s Got Talent and Postmodern Jukebox stages worldwide.
Continuing its mission to spotlight diverse and rising talent, The Cabaret’s Artist in Residence Series welcomes Okara Imani, a multidisciplinary artist whose soulful, genre-defying style resonates deeply with today’s audiences. Meanwhile, the ever-popular Big Broadway Sing-Along: Holiday Edition, hosted by Scott Semester and Sean Baker, returns for another round of festive cheer and audience participation.
The season concludes with the Ball State University Student Showcase, part of The Cabaret’s Next Generation Series, providing an important platform for emerging stars to shine.
“In a time of profound social need and disconnection, we believe The Cabaret’s purpose is to offer a shared space for respite, reflection, and connection—for both artists and audiences,” says Forsell. “This vision has shaped our plans for The Cabaret’s 2025 Fall Season, which will focus on joy, laughter, and love.”
With its unparalleled curation of talent, immersive performances, and commitment to community engagement, The Cabaret continues to elevate Indianapolis as a cultural destination—and this upcoming season may be its brightest yet.
