Mo's A Place for Steaks

On a crisp Tuesday evening, I made my way to the booming southside of Indianapolis to visit Mo’s Mo's A Place for Steaks—one of Greenwood’s most anticipated new arrivals. Situated along US 31, the spacious restaurant blends modern comfort with classic steakhouse elegance. Soft lighting, rich woods, and a warm, polished aesthetic create an environment that immediately feels welcoming, whether you’re gathering for a celebration or simply indulging in a well-prepared meal.

I kicked things off with the Creamy-Spicy Crab Dip, an irresistible opener that marries smooth, cheesy richness with just the right amount of heat. Served warm with crisp tortilla chips, the dip is loaded with tender crab and has a balanced flavor profile that never tips into overwhelming territory.

The Seared Blackened Scallops followed and were an undeniable highlight. Perfectly caramelized on the outside and tender within, each scallop delivered a gentle, smoky spice that enhanced the natural sweetness of the seafood without overshadowing it.

Since entrées include a soup or salad, the Lobster Bisque was an easy choice. Silky, well-seasoned, and served piping hot, it proved to be the ideal companion for a chilly evening.

For the main course, the Farbuckle Filet lived up to its stellar reputation. Cooked exactly to order and finished tableside, the filet showcased its high-quality cut with seasoning that enhanced rather than competed with the beef. Paired with brussels sprouts and the decadent lobster mac & cheese—and, of course, a good glass of red wine—it made for a memorable entrée.

Seafood lovers will gravitate toward the Miso Sea Bass, a dish that achieves that rare balance of being both indulgent and light. Perfectly flaky and subtly seasoned, the fish is served atop fragrant coconut rice with bright asparagus spears—a thoughtful presentation for diners seeking something on the healthier side.

Dessert brings out Mo’s playful side. The towering carrot cake, with its moist layers and velvety cream cheese frosting, feels like a warm hug. And the whimsical puff of cotton candy delivered to the table adds a charming, unexpected finish to the evening.

With refined dishes, friendly service, and an atmosphere that feels both polished and approachable, Mo’s Steakhouse in Greenwood stands out as a welcome addition to the local dining scene. Whether you’re marking a special occasion or simply indulging in a night out, it’s a spot that’s absolutely worth the visit.
