Things are about to get spooky in downtown Indianapolis as seven Hoosier storytellers take audiences on a journey into the supernatural.
Storytelling Arts of Indiana will present “Spooky Stories,” its long-running fall tradition, on Friday, Oct. 9, at the Phoenix Theatre & Cultural Campus. The evening will feature suspenseful tales designed to send a few chills down the spine just in time for Halloween.
Storytellers Deborah Asante, Celestine Bloomfield, Debby Gullery, Liza Hyatt, David Matlack, Bob Sander and Tracey Wynn will each bring their distinctive voices and storytelling styles to the stage. Together, they will conjure an evening filled with mystery, tension and eerie twists.
The stories are appropriate for middle-school-aged children and older, making the performance a seasonal outing for families with older children, teens and adults who enjoy a good scare.
Sponsored by Lewis Kappes, “Spooky Stories” begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Phoenix Theatre & Cultural Campus, located at 705 N. Illinois St., in Indianapolis. Audiences may attend in person or watch the performance via livestream.
General admission tickets are $20, student tickets are $10 and livestream access is $15. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at Storytellingarts.org.
