DETAILS:  Jeanne White Ginder is the mother of Ryan White. Ryan died at the age of 18 on April 8, 1990. He fought against fear and misinformation surrounding HIV/AIDS. He contracted the disease via tainted blood product used to treat his hemophilia — he was eventually banned from school due to his condition. His fight to return to school and live a normal life made him famous around the world.

The Children’s Museum has more than 500 artifacts from Ryan’s life and is proud to showcase them in ‘Ryan’s room’ within The Power of Children®. They are used to tell the story of his struggle with AIDS, his fight to attend school, and most importantly the great accomplishments he achieved during his short life. We are so proud to have Jeanne here with us for this free discussion, and are privileged to be a part of continuing to tell Ryan’s story.
