Slapfish, the popular fast-casual seafood concept, is expanding its footprint in Indiana with a new location coming to the Market District in Carmel. This will mark the fourth Hoosier location for the restaurant, known for its fresh, flavorful seafood served in a laid-back, family-friendly environment.

The upcoming restaurant will feature a 3,300-square-foot interior space along with a versatile enclosed patio designed for year-round dining—open-air in warmer months and comfortably heated during the winter. Owners Mark and Lauren Weghorst plan to begin renovations this summer with the goal of opening later in the year.

Slapfish has earned a loyal following for its modern take on “boat-to-plate” dining. Signature items include the Lobster Roll, Blackened Grouper Sandwich, and Epic Shrimp Burrito. Guests can also enjoy healthier fare like the Power Bowl and Seared Ahi Tuna Bowl, as well as classics like Fish ‘N Chips.

For the Weghorsts, opening a location in Carmel is more than just a business decision—it’s a heartfelt return to their roots.

“Opening our fourth location in our hometown is truly a full-circle moment for our family,” said Mark Weghorst. “This community shaped who Lauren and I have become, and it’s where we are raising our family now. Bringing Slapfish to Carmel isn’t just about expanding—it’s about coming home.”

Slapfish first launched in Indiana in Noblesville in 2019, followed by locations on Mass Ave in Downtown Indianapolis in 2020 and in Fishers in 2023. Each location embraces the same commitment to fresh seafood, welcoming service, and convenience.

The restaurants cater to a broad audience with gluten-free options, a kid-friendly menu, and full-service catering. Whether dining in or grabbing a meal to go, Slapfish offers an approachable way to enjoy high-quality seafood any day of the week.
