Tucked inside the Indianapolis Marriott East, Skylight Bistro & Wine Bar offers a surprisingly refined dining experience that elevates the traditional hotel restaurant into something far more memorable.
Our evening centered around a thoughtfully curated four-course chef’s tasting menu, each dish showcasing a balance of flavor, texture, and presentation.
The meal began with beautifully pan-seared ahi tuna, delicately paired with a tomato fennel chutney. The tuna was fresh and buttery, with a perfect sear that locked in its richness, while the chutney added a subtle sweetness and aromatic depth that complemented rather than overwhelmed the fish.
Next came a refreshing interlude: watermelon cubes served alongside heirloom tomato and a bright hint of lemon. This course leaned into simplicity, allowing the natural sweetness of the watermelon and the acidity of the tomato to shine, with the citrus providing a clean, palate-cleansing finish.
The main course delivered a hearty and satisfying centerpiece—an herb-marinated ribeye cooked to perfection. The steak was tender and flavorful, enhanced by a savory compound butter that melted effortlessly over the top. Accompaniments of crisp asparagus and a tri-colored potato mash rounded out the plate, offering both comfort and balance.
Dessert was a standout finale. The key lime pie cheesecake struck an ideal harmony between tart and sweet, its creamy texture elevated by the addition of fresh raspberries and a vibrant mango coulis. It was indulgent without being heavy, a fitting end to a well-paced meal.
Service throughout the evening was attentive and polished, reinforcing the restaurant’s commitment to quality. Skylight Bistro & Wine Bar proves that hotel dining doesn’t have to be predictable—it can be an experience in its own right, worthy of a visit whether you’re staying overnight or simply seeking a well-executed meal on Indy’s east side.

Looks deliscious! Thanks for the recommendation! Will have to try when I'm in the area again.
