The Indianapolis Children’s Choir (ICC), which is celebrating its 40th Anniversary, will present a “40 Years of Magical Moments” concert on June 24, 2026 at 8:00 pm on the Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. Nearly 200 ICC singers ranging in age from kindergarten all the way to ICC alumni will travel to New York City to present this ambitious full-length concert. This once-in-a-lifetime performance will include songs from Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo and past ICC favorites that will showcase the organization’s history and legacy as one of the world’s largest and longest-running children’s choirs. This also marks the first time the choir has performed solo at Carnegie Hall, a feat reserved for true artistic talent.
“This is not only a celebration of 40 years of song, but it’s a display of the amazing musicianship that has been cultivated over this time that we continue to instill in our current singers,” explains Joshua Pedde, Executive Artistic Director of the ICC. “This type of opportunity to sing on one of the most famous stages in the world is something that the ICC takes great pride in providing.”
The performance at Carnegie Hall will be the culmination of the choir’s 40th anniversary season that is sponsored by Everwise Credit Union. Singers will present songs from the ICC’s extensive list of favorites, selections from Washington Women as the United States celebrates 250 years, and the concert will conclude with Jubilate Deo. The piece holds a special place in the choir’s history, as it was commissioned to celebrate the ICC’s 30th anniversary.
“Bringing this massive piece back to life will be incredibly special for our singers. It has seven movements, most in different languages, and all accompanied by an orchestra. It’s a challenge to learn, and a true joy to listen to – something that I think any audience will be wowed by,” shares Pedde.
Each year, the Indianapolis Children’s Choir (ICC) serves more than 2,500 young people between the ages of 18 months and 18 years who are enrolled in the ICC’s choirs and music education programs. Founded in 1986 by Henry Leck, and under the current leadership of Executive Artistic Director Joshua Pedde, the ICC transforms lives through powerful choral experiences and music education, empowering young voices to grow, connect, and lead on stage and in the community. The ICC performs in a wide variety of professional settings, helping set a standard of excellence in the children’s choral music world. The choir regularly appears with orchestras, professional artists, and ensembles of the highest caliber and annually presents its own eight-concert series.
