Civic Theatre is excited to announce both public and weekday student matinee performances of the delightful new musical PETE THE CAT! Designed to bring the magic of musical theatre to young audiences, these performances will offer a fun, engaging, and educational experience for young children all over Central Indiana.
"Our goal is to inspire young minds through the power of live theatre," said Michael J. Lasley, Civic Theatre Executive Artistic Director. "We are thrilled to present 'Pete the Cat' to students and look forward to creating memorable experiences that resonate with their love of stories and music.”
Based on the beloved children’s book series, PETE THE CAT is a short musical that features catchy songs, vibrant staging, and inspiring messages about friendship, perseverance, and staying cool in the face of challenges. Student matinees will run weekdays, February 24th through March 5th of 2026, providing a fantastic opportunity for groups of prekindergarten through 2nd Grade students to enjoy a live theatre experience that sparks imagination and joy. In addition, there will be two public performances on Saturday, February 28th at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. so that families and friends can also join in the fun.
More information about the show, including performance dates and times, can be found here. To reserve a group of students for a weekday student matinee, email Civic Theatre at Groups@CivicTheatre.org.
