The Indy Art Center will welcome the community back to its newly reopened ArtsPark when Locally Made: Indy’s Fall Fest returns Saturday, October 17, from noon to 5 p.m.

The free, family- and dog-friendly festival celebrates Indianapolis’ creative community with more than 50 artist booths, hands-on activities and opportunities to purchase locally made artwork. Participating artists will retain 100% of their sales, allowing each purchase to directly support the person who created it.

Visitors of all ages can explore a variety of artmaking experiences, including seasonal pumpkin painting. Additional Make It Take It activities will be offered during the festival, although advance registration is required through the Indy Art Center website.

This year’s festival also provides an opportunity to experience the revitalized ArtsPark. The art and nature park recently reopened with a fully accessible boardwalk, new limestone plazas, sculptures, landscaping and other improvements designed to make the grounds more welcoming and accessible.

Taking place alongside Fall Fest is Autumntidings, a ticketed celebration hosted by Ash & Elm Cider Co. The event will feature fall ciders, food prepared by local chefs and other seasonal offerings. Like Fall Fest, Autumntidings welcomes families and dogs.

Admission to Locally Made: Indy’s Fall Fest is free, while artwork, select activities, food and beverages will be available for purchase. Autumntidings requires a separate ticket, with additional details available at ashandelmcider.com.

The Indy Art Center is located at 820 E. 67th St. in Indianapolis. In addition to annual community events, the nonprofit organization presents hundreds of classes and camps, more than 20 free contemporary art exhibitions each year and outreach programs such as ArtReach for young people in underserved communities and ArtTroop for veterans and active-duty military members.
