Indianapolis Women’s Chorus is celebrating the beauty inside each person at its fall concert Nov. 22 and 23. Through lyrics that challenge stereotypes and norms about what’s considered beautiful, the uplifting concert will encourage everyone to embrace their own beauty and honor every person’s unique expressions of beauty.

The program includes such songs as:

• My Body Tells a Story by Ash, which was inspired by the book Tattoo Monologues;

• We are Timeless, a bold new Pride anthem by Moira Smiley;

• Kaleidoscope Heart by singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles;

• The Village by Wrabel, which depicts a trans teen’s struggle, and affirms their inherent beauty and worth;

• Does the World Say? by Kyle Pederson, which underscores our need to walk alongside and support one another through the pressures of life.

“From beauty beyond the binary to beauty that comes only with age, and from beauty found through brokenness to the beauty of making one’s self a work of art, we’ll explore a variety of diverse expressions of beauty, inspiring ourselves and one another for the work of today and all the days ahead,” said IWC Artistic Director Meagan Johnson.
