More than 100 voices will fill stages across Indianapolis as the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus launches a new season celebrating tradition, collaboration, theatrical storytelling and LGBTQ+ Pride.
The organization’s 37th season will feature five major events, including its beloved holiday production, a collaboration with the Purdue Varsity Glee Club, a musical road trip across America, a Moulin Rouge-inspired fundraising gala and a free outdoor Pride concert.
“We’ve built a season that gives us a chance to show just how much a chorus can do,” said Greg Sanders, artistic director of the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus. “There’s tradition and beautiful music, but there’s also theater, humor, storytelling and some really big moments. Every show creates a completely different experience for the audience, and that’s what excites me about this season.”
A Holiday Tradition Returns
Christmas performances have been part of the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus since the organization’s founding. That tradition will continue with The Holiday Show, presented Dec. 18–20 at Warren Performing Arts Center.
Featuring more than 100 singers across four performances, the annual production will combine beloved seasonal favorites with storytelling, humor and theatrical elements. The result promises to be a festive experience that embraces the warmth of the season while showcasing the chorus’s signature personality.
More Than 150 Voices Unite
The season continues Feb. 21 with one of IMC’s largest collaborations to date.
The Indianapolis Men’s Chorus will join forces with the Purdue Varsity Glee Club for an afternoon concert at the Scottish Rite Cathedral. Bringing together more than 150 singers, the program will include performances by each ensemble along with selections combining both groups.
The collaboration will give audiences an opportunity to experience the distinct sound and style of each organization before the singers unite for what promises to be a powerful choral experience.
Hitting the Open Road
The chorus returns to Warren Performing Arts Center April 16–18 for Wet Hot American Road Trip, a theatrical production inspired by the freedom, discovery and restless energy of the great American road trip.
Drawing inspiration from writers such as Jack Kerouac, the show will take audiences on a musical journey filled with adventure, memorable characters and unexpected encounters.
As with any Indianapolis Men’s Chorus production, travelers should expect plenty of humor, storytelling and a few surprising detours along the way.
A Big Gay Prom Goes Rouge
IMC’s annual fundraising gala returns May 21 with The Big Gay Prom: Rouge!
For one glamorous evening, the Scottish Rite Cathedral Ballroom will be transformed into a Moulin Rouge-inspired celebration filled with music, dancing, cocktails and live entertainment.
The gala serves as one of the chorus’s signature fundraising events. Proceeds support IMC’s performances, programs and community engagement initiatives throughout the year.
Pride Under the Summer Sky
The season concludes June 4 at 8 p.m. with Pride on the Lawn, the chorus’s free outdoor Pride concert at Taggart Memorial Amphitheatre in Riverside Park.
Audiences are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnics for an evening of music and community beneath the summer sky. The concert is free and open to the public, offering an accessible opportunity for Indianapolis residents and visitors to celebrate Pride through music.
A Chorus Entering Its Next Chapter
The 2026–27 season arrives during a period of remarkable growth for the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus. The ensemble has expanded from approximately 50 singers just a few years ago to more than 100 members today, while also increasing its performances, partnerships and organizational capacity.
This fall, IMC will begin rehearsing at its new organizational home at Butler University as a member of the Butler Arts Collaborative. The chorus will continue presenting performances at venues throughout Indianapolis.
Additional information about its new home and the organization’s Next Chapter initiative is expected to be announced in September.
