The Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra will open its 43rd season with an evening of romance, wit and theatrical music. “Shakespeare & Love” takes the stage Saturday, October 17, at 8 p.m. at the Schrott Center for the Arts.
The program draws on stories by William Shakespeare, beginning with the magic of A Midsummer Night’s Dream Overture. Suites inspired by Love’s Labour’s Lost and Much Ado About Nothing bring more of the playwright’s humor and heart to the concert.
Pianist Adam Golka joins the orchestra for Mozart’s dramatic Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K. 466. A Polish American musician who has performed at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall and Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Golka is also known for performing all 32 of Beethoven’s piano sonatas.
The concert launches the ICO’s 2026–27 season, “Story Lines,” under Music Director and Conductor Matthew Kraemer. Verity Wealth is the opening night’s title sponsor.
Tickets start at $45. Free student and child tickets are available by phone. For tickets and details, visit the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra’s “Shakespeare & Love” page or call 317-940-9607.
