Music takes on a different feeling by candlelight. This fall, the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and Butler Arts will invite audiences to experience familiar pop songs in an intimate new setting with GLOW, a string quartet concert series created for listening, lingering and connecting.
The series begins Friday, Oct. 16, at Shelton Auditorium with a program celebrating the music of Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., the performance will transform some of the pop superstars’ biggest hits into immersive string arrangements.
The ICO String Quartet features Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra Concertmaster Suliman Tekalli alongside violinist Emily Popham-Gillins, violist Steven Baloue and cellist Andrea Kleesattel. Together, the musicians will bring a classical perspective to the artists’ iconic catalogs while preserving the emotion and energy that made the songs favorites.
With its candlelit atmosphere and close connection between musicians and audience members, GLOW offers a different kind of concert experience: an intimate room, four accomplished performers and songs listeners already love.
The Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande program is part of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra’s 2026–27 season. Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster and start at $31, including fees.
