HI-FI Annex now Open in Fountain Square’s

Following the June 20 re-opening of the indoor venue HI-FI in Fountain Square, owner Josh Baker responded to feedback from music fans with the development of an open-air solution for presenting shows – the HI-FI Annex.  The distinctive stage fashioned from a 40-foot shipping container was fabricated and installed by A Squared Fabrication in the parking lot behind the Murphy Art Center.

Baker noted, “With many of our national tours cancelled and artists preferring  to perform outdoors, we had to move quickly to have a shot at saving our business. We are thankful for Deylen (HI-FI’s landlord) and the neighboring businesses for their support in helping to get this off the ground. We feel like this will provide a more safe environment for us to have some much needed entertainment in our lives.”

The HI-FI team is working fast to fill the calendar with local and regional performances, special events, trivia nights and private rentals. Baker adds, “We’ve pulled all this together in just under three weeks, which is a feat in itself.  Now we are turning our attention to regular programming which we hope to host Wednesdays through Sundays through October.”

HI-FI staff will follow the same safety procedures for shows inside and outside in the new HI-FI Annex which include a mask requirement, recommended social distancing, touchless POS systems, regular virucidal spray/cleaning and hand washing stations for guests.
