Just over an hour south of Indianapolis, the Brown County Music Center in Nashville, Indiana is rolling into fall with one of its most eclectic lineups yet — and a brand-new spot to soak in the scenery before the show even starts.

A New Way to Arrive: The Beer Garden

Ahead of this season’s concerts, the venue debuted a new outdoor Beer Garden, giving patrons a relaxed place to grab a drink and take in the views before heading inside. The space has quickly become a favorite among regulars, who point to its Adirondack chairs, craftsmanship, and the way it complements the venue’s architecture and the broader character of Brown County. Fans describe it as one of the most memorable parts of a night out at the venue — a chance to catch up with friends and enjoy the scenery before the music even starts.

What’s Playing This Fall

The Brown County Music Center’s September through November calendar spans rock, country, jazz, pop, and everything in between. Highlights include:

  • The Marshall Tucker Band — Friday, September 18
  • The Fixx, Colin Blunstone & Peter Asher — Wednesday, September 23
  • Martina McBride — Saturday, October 3
  • Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: In Concert — celebrating its 40th anniversary, Friday, October 2
  • Ryan Bingham and The Texas Gentlemen — Saturday, October 17
  • Atlanta Rhythm Section & Orleans — Sunday, October 25, marking more than 50 years of hits
  • Daughtry’s 20 Years Unplugged Tour — Thursday, October 29

There’s also a strong local flavor to the season: Amplify Nashville on November 7 spotlights up-and-coming acts, headlined by The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band alongside Sami Riggs, Honey White, and Slow Gin. And on November 12, Mark Farner’s American Band and Molly Hatchet team up for a classic rock double bill that benefits the Brown County Veterans Affairs Department.

About the Venue

Since opening in August 2019 with Vince Gill as its first headliner, the Brown County Music Center has built a reputation as one of the most intimate concert venues in the Midwest. With 2,000 seats and a farthest seat only 106 feet from the stage, it’s hosted acts like The Beach Boys, Chicago, Jason Isbell, Emmylou Harris, Gladys Knight, and YES. It sits along Salt Creek, less than a mile from Indiana’s largest state park and the town of Nashville — making it an easy day-trip or weekend destination from Indianapolis.

Planning Your Trip

Tickets are available at browncountymusiccenter.com, Ticketmaster, or the venue box office (open Tuesday–Friday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., and from 3 p.m. on event days Saturday–Monday). Pair a show with a stroll through Nashville’s galleries and boutiques, or extend the trip with a hike in Brown County State Park — the whole area leans into its identity as one of the country’s original artists’ colonies.

For Indy residents looking for a fall outing that combines great music, small-town charm, and Indiana’s fall foliage, Brown County Music Center’s new Beer Garden and packed concert calendar make it worth the drive.
